Danny DeCrescenzo

Media Talent and Personality

Danny DeCrescenzo is a senior at Hofstra University's Lawrence Herbert School of Communication with a major in Audio/Radio Production and minors in Creative Writing and Political Science. He's a Trustee Scholar—which entails a full academic scholarship—and is in the Rabinowitz Honors College. He received Hofstra's Junior of the Year Award in 2023 for his leadership in various roles at Hofstra, and was the Senior of the Year for the BA in Audio/Radio in 2024. He's also a member of the Hofstra University chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha and the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

At 88.7 FM WRHU, Hofstra's four-time Marconi Award-winning radio station, Danny served on the Executive Board as the Program Director of Talk. He was previously the Morning Wake-Up Call Director. In 2021, Danny was named a Rubens Zahid Rookie of the Year at WRHU. In 2022 and 2024 Danny was named WRHU's Air Talent of the Year for Talk, and in 2023 he received the same distinction for News. 

For Hofstra Entertainment Access Television, Danny has appeared on the network's Hofstra Today and Sports Beat shows as an anchor and host. He's also twice participated in the Herbert School's award-winning Hofstra Votes Live election night broadcasts as an on-air talent.

Danny is a former weekend news anchor and sportswriter at 77 WABC Radio in New York City. He interned with Fox News Radio's Podcasts and New Media division in New York City during the summer of 2022, and with the Monmouth County Democrats during the summer of 2023. He's the New Jersey news correspondent for Cruzin' Oldies 97.5 WRSK in Newton, NJ. He also spent a year interning with The Source with Kaitlan Collins on CNN. During the summer, he serves as the Communications Director for the Normandy Basketball League based in Middletown, NJ, heading PR, stat logging, and play-by-play commentary.
